I visited from Canada for a routine check-up but was quite disappointed with the overall service. The entire experience felt impersonal, almost like being processed in a factory. The reception staff were cold, unwelcoming, and seemed visibly annoyed when I asked any questions. They gave short, dismissive answers and just pointed to where I needed to go.
When I finally saw the doctor, the appointment lasted barely a minute. It felt rushed and superficial—they simply listed off a set of tests without any real discussion or explanation. I take good care of my health and regularly get check-ups in Canada, but I wanted to take advantage of Korea’s medical system while visiting. Unfortunately, this visit left me feeling like just another number.
After the consultation, I had to return to the front desk to ask for a detailed breakdown of the tests that were ordered, as the doctor never went over what she was checking for or why. There was no clarity about what markers they were looking at, especially with the bloodwork.
I spent 45 minutes commuting, paid hundreds of dollars, and received less than a minute of face time with a doctor. The environment was tense, the staff looked stressed and overwhelmed, and the service was far from patient-centered. I would strongly suggest finding a different clinic—one where the staff are respectful and take the time to explain your health matters properly. Save your time and money.

Avoid Dr. Soyun Lee (이소연) in OB/GYN. She was rude, unfriendly, and made inappropriate comments that left me feeling disrespected and upset. Her examination was rushed and didn’t take time to address my concerns. Even complained that I came after hours—even tho the reception sent me to her. She clearly hates her job and takes it out on patients. Wouldn’t go back or recommend.

예상외로 깨끗하고 친절, 병원의료진도 아주 질서있게 돌어가고 있어 믿음이 갑니다. 수술전 상담도 상세하고 좋았고요,
수술전후 보호자에게 진도상황 통보,수술후에도 집도의, 간호사외 모든 직원들이 성의있게 환자를 돌봐주셔서 그냥 감사할 따름,.병원내 편의점 및 식당 없는게 유일한 흠인데, 잘 찾아보니, 파리바케트 스타벅스 가깝고, 이외의 맛집들이 10분 거리내에 꽤 많이 있어 나름대로 즐길수있었습니다.^^

시간만 돌릴 수 있다면 미즈메디병원을 방문하지 않았을 겁니다. 악몽입니다.
“심*인“이라는 의사는 제 딸에게 큰 상처를 주었고 Rude 한 attitude는 Second opinion 을 받으러 갔던 저희에게 특별히 치료 방법이 없는데 “왜 여기저기 다니냐“고 하는 의사가 있는 병원입니다.
1주일이 지난 오늘 아침 딸아이가 눈이 붉어져 화장실에서 나오며 그 의사 말이 매일 생각난다며 우는데 어미 가슴이 찌져졌습니다.
내가 괜히 이 병원을 데려간거 같은 후회와 분노에 병원에 항의 했지만 원무과장이라는 분만 사과를 했고 의사는 전화 사과 조차 없습니다.
다른병원 초음파 포함 CT까지 가져 갔는데 초음파를 다시 해야 한다 하길래 거절해서 였을까요? 과잉진료에 해당하는거 같아 보건 복지부에 확인해보니 “의료법 시행령 32조 위반이라고“ 하더군요. 관할 보건소에 신고하라는 조언까지 받았고요.
난임으로 고통 받는 부부들이 많이 가는 병원이라 들었는데 이런 의사가 있는 이 병원은 절.대.로. 가면 안될거 같습니다.
그리고 “심*인“ 당신은 본인이나 소중한 당신 가족 특별히,, 당신 아이가 사형선고를 받더라도 아무것도 하지말고 그냥 받아들이세요!!
그게 당신이 환자들에게 했던 치료 방식이니까요!!
아니면 물에 빠져 허우적 거리며 지푸라기라도 잡는 심정으로 여기저기 다니며 똑같은 상처를 받아야 깨우침이 있을까요??

Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to confront the “professionals” in real time due to pure shock and disappointment. And given the terrible attitudes, I know that confrontation would not be of any help, so I am leaving a written message for public view.
A month ago, I came to Korea with unidentified stomach pain, and after a few visits at multiple hospitals, one doctor suggested visiting an OBGYN given my PCOS history. So I came here with my mother, who was worried and wanted to gain a second opinion. We came with my CT, and I even prepared my ultrasound images from the States. Apparently, this hospital and Dr. Shim stated that they need new testing/imaging PRIOR to seeing the Doctor??? Shouldn’t it be the opposite? After cross checking with the Gang-seo district and medical law, this practice of testing prior to seeing the doctor is illegal. (And of course when calling the hospital, they simply stated that it was “miscommunication” and that WE did not understand them… LOL).
My mother and I refused to have testing because we were uncomfortable with this method of practice at that moment, which then raised a bit of negative attitude from both the nurse, front desk, and Dr Shim.
When my mother presented my situation, Dr Shim so simply and stoically responded “What’s the need to go to so many hospitals, just take your medicine. There’s nothing else.”
I am MORE THAN AWARE of my condition and that there is limited research in the field, however your lack of empathy and rude statement to my mother was simply uncalled for and incredibly UNPROFESSIONAL.
I walked out with a variety of emotions - I felt belittled, ashamed, and invigorated at the way she talked to my mother. And I eventually cried afterwards, to which the nurse and front desk laughed at and whispered to one another “what’s the big deal”.
To Dr. Shim, I want to ask why you decided to become a doctor. Was it because you surpassed your peers in grades? Was it for the pride? Was it for money? Was it for authority? One thing for certain is that you did not choose this career to help patients. Of course, doctors should treat and diagnose, however they should also have a sense of empathy and a willingness to help patients… which you immensely lack. Do you have children? Even if you don’t, imagine the heart of a mother. She is worried. She is also more than knowledgeable about the condition, we just wanted a second opinion but I guess that was too much to ask for!
I never leave public reviews, however my experience was something I wish no other patients have, and I hope somehow Dr Shim and “professionals” of MizMedi have an opportunity to recognize this review.

I came on a Tuesday for a routine check up. They got a translator for me and she walked me through the entire process, from the phlebotomist to insurance to the doctor and even to the pharmacy around the corner! What a great service for expats. I highly recommend MizMedi.

I recently had a laparoscopic surgery at this hospital. Since it has a nice post-op care unit, I stayed in the recovery unit for a couple of days. All staff were kind, helpful, and professional.
I’d have appreciated more if my doctor spent a little more time explaining about my symptoms, treatment options, prognosis, how my surgery went, and a long-term care plan, without my prompting.

두번 방문 후 병원 옮깁니다. 전체적으로 병원 시스템이 정비가 안되어 있고 의료진이 전문적이라는 느낌을 받지 못했어요. 뭔가 보이는 것, 외관의 그럴싸함에 집중하는 느낌?
일단 병원 주차장(4주차장)에 엘리베이터가 없습니다. 휠체어나 유모차 어찌 이동하라고 병원이 이런지 놀라웠는데 주차장 내에 인도도 잘 안 되어 있어요. 무슨 이유에서인지 출구에 차가 막혀 있는 경우가 많아요.
첫날 가니까 간호가 분이 이러시더라고요. "저희 병원에 미국에서 오신 분들이 많은 거 아시죠? 그분들 다 아기수첩 들고 오시는데 왜 없으세요?" 이 말을 저랑 와이프한테 두번씩 했는데 "미국 내 탑10위내였던 내가 다니던 대학병원은 다 스마트폰 어플이랑 인터넷에 되어 있어서 이런 종이쪼가리 안들고 다닙니다."하고 싶은거 저도 속물 소리 들을까봐 참았습니다. 미국에서 받아온 의료 서류 다 넘겨줬는데 간호사들 둘셋이 한참 쳐다봐도 뭔 소린지 이해를 못하더라고요. 모르면 아는 사람 불러서 해결을 해야 되는데 그거 붙잡고 앉아서 마치 아기수첩 없는 제가 이상한듯 말하는 게 너무 겉멋 들었다는 느낌을 받았습니다.
두번 진료받으면서 또 놀랐던 점은 의료서비스의 질 자체에요. 아기 몸무게 재는데 옷도 안 벗기고 대충 올려서 잰 다음 마이너스 100그램 하더라고요. 키는 아예 재줄 생각 안하고 구강검사, 귀검사 하나도 안하더라고요. 한국 병원이 다 이런지 모르겠는데 미국에 비해서 해주는게 없어서 놀랐어요. 갈때마다 의사는 정말 한 2분 보나? 산모 기분은 어떻냐, 애기 수유량은 어떻냐, 배변활동은 어떻냐 묻는거 기본 아닌가요? 의료보험이라는게 역시 싼게 비지떡인가 생각도 들고. 동네 병원 가나 미즈메디 가나 뭐가 실질적으로 다를지 모르겠습니다. 워낙 해주는 의료 서비스가 없어서. 실상은 백신 맞는 보건소나 다름 없어요.
