Alaya is an incredible place less than 1h from Barcelona. We experienced the absolute piece of mind as everything was so chilled and motivated you to forget about the reality. Usually I post photos with my reviews but this time I didn't touch my phone for an entire day. Rodrigo was the responsible person for us and he was simply amazing. Very friendly, funny and really good at teaching yoga. One of the best things about alaya was without a doubt the food as Suzi's options were fabulous! The full day retreat worth every cent we spent. Highly recommended and we will definitely return!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Alaya Retreat Centre, and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and treated as an individual by the host, Ellen. Her warm and genuine approach set the tone for my entire stay. The yoga classes were superb, led by highly trained instructors Mir and Alex, who specialise in Hatha and Kundalini yoga. As a food lover, I was thrilled by the nourishing and delicious meals served throughout my stay. The fresh tomato salsa and refreshing watermelon juice for breakfast were particular highlights. One of my favourite experiences was the guided hike and Kundalini yoga session by the water, followed by a one-on-one sound bath with Mir. It was my first time trying a sound bath, and it was a truly relaxing and rejuvenating experience. The stunning natural surroundings of Alaya Retreat Centre added to the restorative atmosphere. The gorgeous dogs and horses, along with the breathtaking sunsets against a backdrop of bougainvillea across the farmhouse, created an unforgettable ambiance. I also had the opportunity to sit and paint, which was a wonderful way to unwind and tap into my creativity. Overall, my stay at Alaya Retreat Centre was exactly what I needed to restore and refresh myself. The combination of exceptional hospitality, top-notch yoga instruction, delicious food, and serene natural beauty made for a remarkable experience. I had a wonderful time in this retreat. The food was excellent and the pool, the garden and the many beautiful rooms around the house provided much needed rest. The yoga classes with Alex and Mir were just great. Alex also took us to a river pool in the woods to practice there and it was amazing and Helen made us feel like at home. I'm definitely coming back very soon!

I came for only one day and it was still worth it. The place is big, clean, calm and peaceful. The teachers are a really great teacher and they adapt to every person's needs and level. When I saw the description of the meditation with horses I didn't really understand it, but experiencing it was a whole other level. I strongly recommend this place and also male sure to stay more than one night if that's possible.

I spent 4 days at the Alaya Retreat Centre in June. It was a welcome change after having visited the (to) busy city of Barcelona for a couple of days. The staff at Alaya was so nice. As a beginner they spent time to make me feel comfortable with the classes. Also sharing our vegetarian meals together was a pleasure and gave us time for great conversation with a few glasses of excellent wine. Another highlight was the hike to the waterfall. All in all a great stay. The best of it all was the staff...they are great people and form a fantastic team!

Running a retreat at Alaya was wonderful on every level. The condition of the property and grounds was excellent, well tended both physically and energetically. The staff was available, supportive, heart centered, and authentically real. Needs were met and when they couldn't be, there was clear communication and alternative options presented. Amazing experience in nature with animals and daily yoga. I disconnected in only 3 days I feel I was gone for 3 months.. Quiet place to catch up on sleep, loving people and animals for your heart and nutritious vegetarian food for your body. I specifically want to highlight the quality of Alex yoga classes he is wonderful person. I booked an overnight stay at Alaya on a whim and can safely say I was blown away but my short visit there. The location is stunning. Nestled amongst the cava vineyards in an idyllic rural location. It is very accessible from Barcelona a train ride to Vilafranca del Penedès and then a short taxi ride out to the house. The resort is beautiful and delightful. My room was in the older refurbished house. It was a cosy room and there were great toilet and shower facilities on my floor. Downstairs was a lovely dining and chill out seating area. Within the grounds there is a beautiful garden and pool and loads of little seating areas. The best thing about the stay were the staff and the sessions along with the delicious food served. The yoga was led by Alex whom is courteous, friendly and informative. He does Kundalini yoga. I had not done this style of yoga before and found it great. A nice mix of dynamic movement mixed with mindfulness. Ellen the resort owner let the meditation with horses. I wasn’t sure what to expect but I had a very emotional experience that was enriching and intriguing. I would highly recommend Alaya for anyone considering a getaway involving yoga and meditation. Hopefully will get back there myself at some point.

My stay at Alaya was brilliant. The place is located in a really nice region where you can have nice afternoon walks through the vineyard or to waterfalls. Blissful view from the yoga room where you will have two sessions per day. Alex was a brilliant teacher and made sure that we had everything we needed throughout our stay. The food was also delicious. Ellen, the staff, the place, the animals: everything reunites to be a great experience. All in all, you only just have to get there. Once at Alaya, everything is taken care of.
