Our experience at Fortis Hospital Mulund during a critical time was deeply disappointing and heartbreaking. My grandfather was in a serious condition in the ICU, and despite his desperate wish to see all his grandchildren together one last time, the hospital staff showed zero empathy. They rigidly enforced a rule that only three people from upstairs could be replaced by three waiting below — completely ignoring the fact that it was his final wish. Only after he passed away did they permit the rest of us to go in. By then, it was too late.
The ICU felt no different from a general ward despite the huge amount of money charged — there was no dignity, no comfort, and certainly no compassion. Patients are kept isolated to such an extreme degree that it affects them mentally. They’re not allowed to eat home-cooked food, meet their family, or even have a loved one sit nearby. This isn’t healthcare — it’s emotional neglect.
There’s no proper seating or waiting arrangement for those accompanying patients, and it all feels like a heartless system focused more on profit than care. The way they treat patients and families is inhumane. For a hospital that charges lakhs, what they offer in return is beyond disappointing — it’s cruel.

The doctors are good but parking is such a huge issue here and guards are extremely rude. If someone is weak and sick, how do you expect them to go to BMC parking, park there and walk from there? It’s a hospital, not a grocery store and parking is a basic facility that should be provided. They don’t even let you wait for a minute. It’s extremely painful.
