I landed in Dr. Flis' office because the ENT doctor in his office that my husband had gone to (who he respects greatly, as well) was on vacation when I had an emergency. As a retired medical reporter (ABC Radio in LA for 23 years), I now realize that was about the luckiest thing in the world, as it turned out that Dr. Flis had a specialty in neck cancers. I had been bitten on the face by what we think was a vicious spider...with my face swelling up like a balloon and a strange lump developing on the right side of my neck. We all thought both areas of swelling were a result of the spider bite...but when my face returned to normal, the lump on my neck did not. Dr. Flis very calmly said he wasn't ready to sign off and very gently inserted a tiny camera down my nose and discovered a lesion at the base of my tongue that turned out to be a CURABLE form of lymphoma that "popped out" as a neck lump because the spider bite overloaded my lymph system --which, thankfully, served as an early warning system--Stage 2, with NO outward symptoms before the lump appeared. As a result of Dr. Flis' excellent instincts to persue the mystery of why this lump had suddenly appeared and remained-- and with his additional steps to accurately diagnosed EXACTLY which of some 30 forms of lymphoma I had-- I started treatment right away, with fewer chemo sessions than a stage 3, or 4, plus 18 days of radiation. Five months later, I was out the other end of medical treatment and in "total remission." Dr. Flis guided me to a wonderful oncologist that was the perfect fit. Both Dr. Flis and Dr. Lucas filled me with confidence that I could come through this in good shape, with many healthy years ahead. I cannot express how grateful I am for Dr. Flis care, consideration, and THOROUGHNESS of diagnosis and treatment. He saved my life by catching this blood cancer early and, as you might imagine, has my highest recommendation.
Hello, I would be happy to recommend Prof. Dan Place, a pleasant clinic with courteous service, the doctor is professional and helpful, listens and responds to every request and help.
Even before the operation, during and after it, they make sure to know that everything is fine and that you feel well.
The service was excellent, but I expected that after the operation he or his assistant would visit me and update me on the results of the operation, the recovery time, what I was allowed and what I was not allowed to do and why.

I had an appointment a week ago. Unhelpful and just kept saying there is nothing that he can do. He is not there to help people he is there to get a paycheck. A 5-minute appointment after waiting 30 minutes is not thorough. He makes you feel uncomfortable the moment he walks in. He looks at his computer and not at you when you speak. PAY ATTENTION TO THE PATIENT. Sometimes you just need compassion. Will be seeking a second opinion.
Went to see Dr. Flis after setting up an appointment two weeks ago. Upon arriving I was told he had ten minutes allocated to me but that with my issue it was going to take longer. I was told to go home and make another appointment. He would not discuss my problem with me. See him if you like, but be forewarned that he may not allocate much time for you. I'm waiting to see how he bills Medicare for my non-visit. His staff was top-notch and the woman who gave me a hearing test was professional and absolutely charming.
very serious WRONG DIAGNOSIS from Dr Flis with an additional hopeless prognosis. He then took license to not look or listen any further and actually dismissed me declining to follow up because "there was nothing he could do"" ????? Frustrated I called my insurance company nurse advice line to discuss Dr Flis and they referred me to another ENT doc who quickly recognized a treatable condition in the Eustachian tube and NOT AN INNER EAR DISEASE. The doctor I am seeing now makes Dr Flis look like a high school boy with his head back in books and not there present with the patient. There are in fact many conditions which present with fluctuating hearing loss and tinnitus. Dr Flis just couldn't be bothered to look past the end of his nose. At the time Dr Flis rejected me the symptoms were entirely debilitating. Jumping off the bridge was on my agenda. He was more than just a little off base and wholly incapable of thinking out of the box. Dr Flis appears to be a nice person but as a specialist he is inadequate and unable to diagnose properly, and is intolerant to listening to symptoms. I feel compelled to call him an inane jerk. What kind of doctor delivers a diagnosis of untreatable inner ear disease inclusive of progressive deafness--and then excuses himself from any follow up? A lame idiot that's what I think!!!!
So if you don't like Dr Flis I encourage you to keep looking- All doctors are not made equal and this one is below average
