Sol gözümde görme kaybı ile başlayan süreçte, yapılan tetkiklerin sonucunda kafa tabanında tümör (menenjiom) teşhis edildi. Kitle; görme siniri ve beyin ana damarı arasında yer alan, cerrahi açıdan ulaşılması oldukça güç bir bölgedeydi. Açık/mikroskobik yöntemle ameliyatım gerçekteşti; tümörün tamam ı, komşusu olduğu çevre dokuya ve yapılara zarar verilmeden tek operasyonda alındı. Ameliyat sonrası ilk günden itibaren düzelen görme yetim, tamamına yakın minimal kayıpla geri geldi ve iyiye gidiş devam etmekte. Cerrahi açıdan incelikle çalışmasının bir diğer katkısı da, ameliyat sonrası dönemde, beklediğimin altında sıkıntılı bir dönemi, hızlı bir şekilde atlatıp günler içerisinde toparlamaya başlamam oldu. Bunda payı çok büyük olan ve işinde çok başarılı olan cerrahi ekibine (anestezi hekiminden cerrahi hemşiresine.. ve diğer tüm personele) de teşekkürlerimi sunuyorum. Açık beyin ameliyatı, kafa tabanı cerrahisi, menenjiom ve beyin kitlelerinde alanının en iyi cerrahlarından birisi olan Burçak Hocama bir hastası ve bir meslektaşı olarak, hayatıma dokunduğu için sonsuz teşekkürlerimi sunuyorum.
