Scientific activity
Marcus Dukes is one of the first physicians to perform minimally invasive microwave ablation of liver and lung tumors under CT guidance.
Clinical activities
The professor heads the first and only MRI-guided FUS ablation center in the Rhine-Main region. In most cases, the procedure allows avoiding surgical intervention. Patients of the center have access to ablation for prostate cancer, bone and liver metastases, benign tumors, and treatment of uterine fibroids without surgery.

Ich heute in der Praxis angerufen, weil ich einen MRT Termin gebraucht habe. Mir wurden ganz freundlich am Telefon direkt 2 Termine angeboten. Ankunft mit zugewiesenem Parkplatz, Empfang, Einweisung MRT und Wartezeit einzigartig. Man entschuldigte sich weil es ein bisschen Verzug 15 Min. gab. Das Diagnose Gespräch war super freundlich fundiert und Zielorientiert. Er schlug mir Möglichkeiten vor welche mich überzeugte. Da ich extreme Schmerzen hatte, hat der Doktor den Patienten in den Vordergrund gestellt und sofort die Behandlung ausgeführt und trotzdem in Ruhe mit hoher Kommunikation so dass ich immer wusste was passiert. 2 Stunden nach betreten der Praxis habe ich diese schmerzfrei verlassen.
Das highlight, der Doktor Düx eine Stunde später angerufen hat und sich nach dem Stand erkundigt hat und zeitgleich die weiteren Maßnahmen übermittelt hat.
Hier ist der Patient noch der Mittelpunkt des Tuns. Ich kann Doktor Düx und sein komplettes Team uneingeschränkt empfehlen.
2016 wurde bei mir ein low grade Karzinom in der Prostata und 2022 ein weiteres kleinherdiges Karzinom im gleichen Areal wie das erste diagnostiziert. Nach 6 Jahren aktiver Überwachung habe ich auf Empfehlung der leitenden Radiologin von Radprax in Wuppertal über die Möglichkeit der fokalen Therapie mit MRgFUS erfahren und den Weg zu Professor Düx nach Frankfurt gefunden. Nach eingehender Voruntersuchung und umfangreicher Beratung habe ich mich für MRgFUS entschieden und den Eingriff im Dezember 2022 ambulant durchführen lassen. Professor Düx und sein Team haben mich absolut überzeugt. Das erkrankte Gewebe wurde mit hochfokussierten Ultraschallwellen unter MRT thermisch erhitzt und zerstört. Alle Funktionen meiner Vorsteherdrüse blieben ohne Beeinträchtigungen erhalten. Das Kontroll-MRT im Juli zeigt ein erfolgreiches Ergebnis. Das Tumorgewebe wurde vollständig entfernt. Ich bin Prof. Düx und seinem Team für die erstklassige fachliche Kompetenz und hervorragende Betreuung sehr dankbar.
Herr Prof. Düx hat mich über diese Therapie meines Uters-Myoms zunächst umfassend aufgeklärt. Das hat mich überzeugt, diese Therapie durchzuführen und auch dort durchzuführen. Ich habe mich während der Vorbereitung und am eigentlichen Therapietag von allen liebevoll behandelt gefühlt. Direkt nach der Ultraschallbestrahlung hat Herr Prof. Düx mir detailliert das Ergebnis erläutert. Die Therapie selber war entsprechend der Kontrolle ein Erfolg und für mich die schonendste Option: Zwei Tage nach dem eigentlichen Therapietag konnte ich bereits wieder Sport machen.
Eines der wenigen Zentren in Deutschland, die fokussierten Ultraschall zur schonenden Myombehandlung anbieten. Sehr nettes und kompetentes Team. Prof. Düx und sein Team sind auch sehr hilfsbereit was die Verhandlung der Kostenübernahme durch die Krankenkasse angeht. Ich bin selber Arzt und kann sagen, dass meine Frau in besten Händen war.
