Ergun Tozkoparan

Dr. Tozkoparan educational background includes a medical degree from GATA Military Medical School in 1989 and specialist training in pulmonology from GATA, Ankara in 1996. Over his career, Dr. Tozkoparan has served in various capacities, including roles at GATA Çamlıca Pulmonology Hospital, Istanbul, Marshal Çakmak Asker Hospital, Erzurum, and as a professor at GATA Department of Pulmonology. He also spent a year at the University of Texas, MD Anderson Cancer Center, enhancing his expertise in interventional pulmonology.

Research and Publications

• His notable publication in the Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (CCLM) in 2007, ‘Changes in platelet count and indices in pulmonary tuberculosis’, highlighted significant findings such as higher PDW, MPV, and plateletcrit values in patients with active tuberculosis, which decreased significantly with anti-tuberculous therapy. His research also established correlations between erythrocyte sedimentation rate, plateletcrit, and the radiological extent of tuberculosis.
